Werasit Phusuwan, the designer and founder of Ghom Lanna (“ghom” is the Thai word for “lantern”), draws inspiration from the ancient bamboo lanterns of Lampang province in Northern Thailand. Traditional designs are transformed into contemporary accessories such as necklaces, earrings, bracelets and hairpins, each piece blending bamboo and brass to create a lightweight yet striking aesthetic that’s perfect for everyday wear. The brand also offers installation art and home décor fittings, including hangings and wall lamps, all reimagining timeless Lanna lanterns in a modern context.

Marionsiam

Marionsiam is a clothing brand that redefines traditional batik with a modern twist. Brand designer and founder Tayida Ounburanawan utilizes the ancient technique of hand-drawing patterns on fabric with wax to block out specific colors before dyeing. What sets Marionsiam apart, however, is its sustainable approach: the wax used is derived from recycled temple candles, and the fabrics are deadstock (i.e. leftovers from the textile industry). As a result, each piece — whether clothing, bags or keychains — boasts a unique design while contributing to reduction of waste and the promotion of a more eco- conscious world.
