A journey through Asia’s colonial elegance and modern luxury

Established in 1887, Raffles Hotel Singapore epitomizes colonial elegance with its neo-Renaissance architecture, whitewashed façades, and iconic verandas. Following a meticulous renovation, it now boasts 115 suites equipped with modern amenities, including iPad-controlled settings and 24/7 butler service, all while preserving its storied past.

• The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

Once the General Post Office, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, the 1928 neoclassical landmark features Doric columns and a grand portico. Transformed into a luxury hotel, it retains historical elements like the barrel-vaulted coffered ceiling and the original lighthouse, seamlessly integrating heritage with contemporary hospitality.

• Goodwood Park Hotel

Goodwood Park Hotel was originally the Teutonia Club in 1900, this Queen Anne Revival-style building showcases turrets and ornate façades. Now a heritage hotel, it offers guests a blend of colonial charm and modern comforts, set amidst lush gardens in the heart of Singapore.

2. Kolkata


The cultural capital of India steeped in colonial legacy.

Kolkata’s colonial past is reflected in its architecture, literature, and hospitality. The city’s grand hotels echo the sophistication of the British Raj while embracing Indian warmth and grandeur. The sophisticated in design reflects on the comfort of the hospitality and services in the heritage buildings.

• The LaLiT Great Eastern Kolkata Hotel

Dubbed the “Jewel of the East”, The LaLiT Great Eastern Kolkata Hotel dates back to 1840 and has hosted luminaries like Mark Twain and Queen Elizabeth II. It is the longest continuously operating luxury hotel in Asia with 165 years of operation until its renovation in 2006. After extensive renovations, it reopened in 2013, preserving its colonial façade and grand staircase while offering contemporary luxury.

Opened in 2019, ITC Royal Bengal, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Kolkata stands as a testament to Kolkata’s architectural grandeur, blending European aesthetics with indigenous designs reminiscent of Bengal’s aristocratic homes and regal palaces. The hotel’s Greco-Roman façade, Doric columns, and opulent interiors draw inspiration from historical landmarks like the Hazarduari Palace. With 456 rooms, 12 restaurants, and expansive banquet spaces, it offers guests a luxurious experience that celebrates the city’s rich cultural tapestry.

• Raajkutir, Kolkata – IHCL SeleQtions

A luxurious heritage boutique hotel that beautifully blends 19th-century Bengali aristocratic charm with modern amenities. Raajkutir, Kolkata – IHCL SeleQtions located on EM Bypass in the Phool Bagan area, it offers guests a unique experience reminiscent of a traditional Bengali ‘Raajbari’ (royal mansion) The hotel’s architecture is inspired by traditional Bengali mansions, featuring a central courtyard (Uthon), lion sculptures at the entrance symbolizing royalty, and a sacred Botthhtola with an old Banyan tree and Durga idol, evoking the ambiance of a 19th-century Bengali household.

3. Siem Reap


A tranquil gateway to Angkor Wat with touches of French colonial flair.

Siem Reap offers more than just ancient temples—it’s also home to heritage hotels that reflect Cambodia’s colonial past.

Originally constructed in 1962 as Villa Princière, a royal guesthouse for King Sihanouk, Amansara exemplifies New Khmer architecture with its minimalist design and tranquil courtyards.
