Winter is a skier’s paradise where every skier will show their skills by sliding and slicing through the snow-covered hills with fun and much gusto. But for those who do not know how to ski, they can still enjoy other activities available at ski resorts around the world. We have ski resorts or ski towns that are both beautiful and worth visiting. The following are 5 such highly recommended places.
1) Zermatt, Switzerland
Zermatt is one of the oldest ski resorts in Switzerland famous for its mountaineering since the late 19th century. It is also home to the Klein Matterhorn cable car, Europe’s highest cable car which takes you to the top of the mountain with views more than 100 miles away. The charming old town is lined with ancient buildings, barns and seed storage, some of which are more than 500 years old. There are also luxury hotels, restaurants and cafés in wooden buildings built in the style of Swiss chalets, including the Bahnhofstrasse shopping street, cheese shops and chocolate shops which are famous in Switzerland.
