No city is truly alive without a programming of arts, culture and creativity. For Bangkok, the capital has been going through an awakening of sorts this past year, thanks to the efforts of its latest governor, Chadchart Sittipunt. Since stepping into office in May 2022, the governor has highlighted arts and creativity as one of the policies to develop in order to make Bangkok a more livable city.
Since then, the city has hosted year-round festivals, with many vibrant events like movie screenings in the park, concerts and art exhibitions among many other exciting happenings around town. In fact, currently ongoing now is Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA)’s festive campaign ‘Colorful Bangkok’, which is intended as a means to revitalize the country by turning Bangkok into a cultural metropolis and a major festival tourism destination. During these three months, you’ll notice how Bangkok is filled with an upbeat mix of art, lights and music. This three-month campaign will continue throughout January 2023, with the main theme of music festivals for the first month of the new year.
