Bangkok is raising the bar when it comes to cocktails, with a new wave of mixology inspired by local Thai flavors, ingredients, and traditions. These signature drinks aren’t just tasty—they tell stories.

These curated cocktails from four select bars offer more than just good drinks—they capture the spirit of Thailand in every pour.

1. ABar Rooftop – Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park

It’s like a city hideaway. ABar Rooftop offers over 50 types of gin in a two-level space that combines indoor elegance with a lush open-air terrace. It’s the perfect place to unwind with friends, especially with bold, balanced drinks.

Signature creations like Hello Yellow, inspired by the iconic yellow Ministry of Defense building in Phra Nakhon district, combine three types of tropical yellow fruits. The fruit peels are sous-vide with rum and garnished with dried fruit pieces sprinkled with chili salt—capturing the vibrant street life of Bangkok. Truly unique!

2. Rogues – InterContinental Bangkok Sukhumvit by IHG

A little hideout bar in the bustling Sukhumvit and Thonglor area, Rogues is known for its uniquely Asian-inspired Art Deco cocktail bar. The ambience is carefully crafted with dark polished wood, contrasted by shiny brass and vintage leather sofas.

The drink list is extensive and highly creative. Inspired by the legendary mango sticky rice from Bangkok’s Thonglor district, Thonglor Dessert is a signature cocktail that transforms this iconic Thai dessert—deconstructed—into a refreshing sip that’s elegant, nostalgic, and unmistakably Thai.

Crafted with Chalong Bay rum and dry vermouth, this signature drink is blended with pandan-scented coconut water, Malai syrup, and fresh lime. The finishing touch? A luscious mango espuma mousse and pandan leaf, delicately layered over coconut jelly.

3. Akara Sky Hanuman – One City Centre

Known as one of the rooftop bars with a unique view of the Bangkok skyline, Akara Sky Hanuman is an experience—set dramatically inside a massive Hanuman sculpture overlooking Bangkok from the 61st floor. Alongside nightly Khon and Muay Thai performances, the bar serves playful cocktails that represent Thai culture and storytelling.

4. The Bamboo Bar – Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

A timeless classic, The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental has been a Bangkok favorite since 1953. Live jazz, rattan furniture, and an upscale crowd set the tone—but the cocktails continue to evolve with Thailand’s seasons.

The current Evolution menu is all about Thai ingredients—lemongrass, banana, mango, and tamarind—paired with international spirits to create elegant, layered drinks.

For a Thai-inspired sip, try the Sohm Choon Spritz—a graceful blend of Cîroc Vodka, Pinot Grigio, and Cointreau, infused with the gentle warmth of young ginger, the soft sweetness of lychee, and the fragrant whisper of jasmine. Honey and lemon add a golden glow, while a splash of Perrier brings sparkling lightness.

Inspired by the timeless Thai dessert Sohm Choon, this cocktail sings with the crisp brightness of ginger and the delicate harmony of bitter orange—an elegant tribute to tradition, reimagined in every sip.
