Prague is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Not only are its buildings an architectural landscape to savor but the citizens of Prague are also very passionate. During the 17th century, Prague was a Mecca for classical music and the birthplace of Antonin Dvorak, who is the author of Symphony No.9 “From the New World” – musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart once traveled to Prague and used the city as an inspiration for his song Don Giovanni.
Prague is still a city of music today. There is classical, jazz and pop music. For music lovers, there are music bars and jazz pubs that play live music at night, concert halls that play classical music, and there are plenty of musicians busking in the streets to help create a colorful and romantic atmosphere for the city.
Old Town, Prague
Prague’s Old Town in the Czech Republic was founded in the Middle Ages. On one side it borders the Vltava River, the main river that flows through the city. Within the old city area is a popular tourist attraction. With many important landmarks such as the Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock Tower (Prague Orloj), the surrounding area is a shopping district lined with shops, restaurants and cafes – especially a road that connects to Charles Bridge, a mere walking distance to Malá Strana, an old part of the town on the other side of the river.
