Shanghai is known as the “Paris of the East,” thanks to its beautiful views and historical architecture. It also oozes an exuberant fast-paced vibe that is seductive to visitors. Famous for its food and drink scene, Shanghai has over 7,000 cafés throughout the city. Here are three favorite ones with spectacular views.

Embrace history in a century old building at the Upper Room

The Upper Room is a café and a bar with beautiful views of Shanghai. It is located on the 7th floor of the luxurious Z Hotel Shanghai Bund Shamei Building. The hotel is situated at the newly renovated Somekh Building, also known as the Shamei Building, built in 1921. It is an important landmark for Shanghai denizens.

Anyone visiting this place will fall in love with the historical European architectural lines of the Bund area, which blends in perfectly with the modern city landscape of Lujiazui financial district. It is stained red by the sunset of the last light of day in the city of Shanghai.

Manner Coffee North Bund on the riverside

Manner Coffee recently celebrated its 1,000th branch at an exclusive location of unparalleled beauty by the Huangpu River. It is a local Shanghai coffee brand founded in 2015. Its first outlet started out with only 2-3 square meters before a quantum leap in growth, which led to the expansion throughout China. “Manner” is derived from the proverb “Manners maketh man,” describing a person’s behavior as an indication of one’s identity. Manner Coffee wishes to elevate the art of drinking coffee into a daily ritual and eventually becomes a refined custom in China. The 1,000th branch is situated in the North Bund area, an exclusive riverside city development project. Unobstructed panoramic views of the Shanghai metropolis and affordable drink prices give Manner Coffee North Bund branch a million-dollar view.
