Three years ago, Tawatchai Sanoun stepped away from the structured world of corporate life, where he had long worked in human resources, to fully embrace the uncertainties of life on the road. What began as a personal quest for renewal soon transformed into a purpose-driven mission: to share unvarnished stories, insightful travel tips, and raw imagery from his explorations. Now followed by over a million people, his digital chronicle – the Facebook page HR พาเที่่ยว (HRCheckinThailand) – is far more than a travelogue. It is a mosaic of moments, atmospheres, and reflections – each entry inviting others to see the familiar through fresh eyes.
“I rarely use editing tools on my photographs,” Tawatchai shares. “What you see is what was truly there. I want people to feel the authenticity – the light, the air, the moment. Many of my images are not only timestamped but often geotagged, offering followers the chance to retrace my journey with remarkable precision,” he says.
What follows is a curated selection of Tawatchai’s most treasured destinations, a vicarious journey to hidden marvels that are not only visually arresting, but profoundly soul stirring. With camera in hand and an unfiltered eye, he reveals a country untouched by mass tourism and digital overprocessing – a Thailand quietly waiting to be rediscovered.
Sai Thong Reservoir, Nakhon Nayok Province
“Taken in September after days of cleansing monsoon rains, this photo captures the serene rebirth of Sai Thong Reservoir. Once arid, the landscape is now lush and gleaming with fresh greenery. Remarkably accessible – just steps from the roadside – this image became a turning point for my Facebook page HRCheckinThailand, drawing thousands to discover the magic of nature’s simplicity.”
Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park, Chiang Mai Province
“Nestled within a remote corner of northern Thailand’s Chiang Mai province, this tent site borders a blossoming grove of wild Himalayan cherry trees. Captured in mid-January, the scene is a poetic canvas of soft pink hues. This is one of Thailand’s most enchanting campgrounds – a place where the boundary between nature and dream fades.”
